No hidden costs

What you don't pay Sarthy for.

Hosting

Sarthy runs on your own infrastructure. We don't host anything. Your AWS bill is your AWS bill.

LLM tokens

Bring your own Claude or OpenAI key. You pay your LLM provider directly. We don't take a margin on top.

Per-feature unlocks

Every plan includes every module. No premium tier gatekeeping the alignment engine, the wiki, or compliance evidence.

Data egress

Your knowledge stays on your server. There's no Sarthy cloud taking, holding, or charging for your data.

Questions, answered

Common questions.

Is it really self-hosted? Where does my data go?

Yes, fully self-hosted. Sarthy installs on your server in one command. Your knowledge base, your wiki, your chat history, your audit log all stay on infrastructure you control. There is no Sarthy cloud holding your data.

Even the LLM calls go directly from your server to the provider you choose (Claude, OpenAI). We never see the requests.

What's actually in the free Solo plan?

The complete Sarthy product. Every feature, every module, including the alignment engine, wiki, MCP integration, and Ask Sarthy. The only restriction is one user (you) and a development licence key, which means it's not approved for production team use.

If you're trying it out, building a side project, or running a personal knowledge system, the Solo plan stays free forever.

Can I switch from Solo to Team later?

Yes. Your install is the same. Adding seats and a production licence is a configuration change, not a re-install. Your knowledge base, history, and audit log carry over.

What does it cost to host Sarthy on my own infrastructure?

It depends on your provider and team size. Sarthy is a single container plus a Postgres database and a Redis cache. Most teams run it comfortably on a small VM (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM) for around USD 30 to 60 a month on a major cloud, plus storage.

We share a reference Ansible playbook for AWS, GCP, Azure, and bare-metal Linux. Install is one command after the VM is provisioned.

What about LLM costs?

You bring your own LLM provider keys. Sarthy supports Claude (Anthropic) and OpenAI in V1, with local models planned. You pay your LLM provider directly at their published rates. No mark-up from us.

Sarthy's daily-spend caps and per-call ledger help keep usage predictable. You can set per-user, per-module, and per-provider limits from the admin panel.

Monthly or annual?

Both. Monthly billing is the default. Annual billing saves 10% in the UK. India billing is monthly only at the moment, no annual discount yet.

You can switch billing cycles from the admin panel anytime. We bill in your currency: GBP via Stripe, INR via Razorpay.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, see our refund policy for the details. In short: pro-rated refund within 30 days of any new paid invoice, no questions asked.

What happens if I exceed something?

There is no "exceed" on the Team plan. Unlimited members means unlimited members. We don't meter modules, projects, or storage on Sarthy's side; you can use the product fully within the limits of your own infrastructure.

The one ceiling is the LLM provider you choose. Hit your Anthropic or OpenAI rate limits and the relevant feature pauses until they reset. The rest of Sarthy keeps working.

What is "design partner" pricing?

We're working with a small cohort of early customers (currently MargBooks, Livwell, CompuFast) who get pilot pricing in exchange for honest feedback. If your situation is a fit, mention it in your demo enquiry. The cohort is selective; not every enquiry becomes a design partner, but those that do get a price that reflects their early-stage trust.
